Brewpack Privacy Policy

Brewpack ("we," "our," or "us") is a specialty coffee shop finder and traveler's diary app for Southeast Asia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Brewpack mobile app or website (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you create an account and use Brewpack:

• Account information: full name, email address, username, and city, provided when you register.
• Content you create: journal notes, shop suggestions, favorites, and "visited" records you add within the app.
• Photos: images you upload to shop listings or suggestions, stored via our photo hosting provider, Cloudinary.
• Location data: if you grant permission, we access your device's location to show nearby coffee shops on the map and calculate distance and directions. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
• Usage data: basic technical information such as app interactions, needed to keep the Service running reliably.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To show you nearby coffee shops, maps, and directions
• To let you save favorites, write notes, mark shops as visited, and submit shop suggestions
• To display shop photos and community-submitted content within the app
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that power Brewpack's core features:

• Supabase — hosts our database (account details, notes, favorites, shop data)
• Cloudinary — hosts photos uploaded to the app
• Google Maps — provides map display, geolocation, and directions

Public-facing content — such as notes marked "public," shop suggestions, and shop photos — may be visible to other users of the app. Notes marked "private" are visible only to you.

4. Your Choices and Rights

• You can view and edit your profile information (name, email, username, city) at any time from the Account screen.
• You can delete individual notes, favorites, or photos you've added.
• You can toggle notes between public and private.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal or security purposes.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures, including secure database hosting and encrypted connections, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Brewpack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
